bad gas guage
i posted this under the electrical section but now that i think about it this could be technical
My gas gauge hasnt worked since the last time i fixed my fuel pump. the shop told me it was my sender which would have cost me like 300 bucks so i told them no. I was wondering if installing a seperate gas guage...(like a tach) was easy or if i had to install anything inside the tank...I want to avoid taking the tank down(for a 4th time) maybe i could just wire it into the harness? idk anyone have a separate gas guage? thanx

You may of just got the float arm stuck or wedged so it can't move, when you did the pump.
What is the gauge reading full/empty/peged/dead?

Yea, if it's pegged you probably have an open some where. Either the sender wire, or the ground. This could be at the guage or the sender?
I would narrow it down, by ohms testing at the connector by the tank...It should be on the driver side of the tank. You probably know it when you pulled the tank for the pump.
I believe the sender wire is pink.
0 ohms empty...
90 ohms full...
