Can this be true?
I am getting my car back from the shop today. I have had idle issues from the car now for some time. I have done all the stuff recommended to me by everyone on this site to fix this problem. Now what the shop is saying is that my lifters needed to be replaced. I did in fact have the repeating tapping noise that is common to lifters and rocker arm noises. A friend of mine and former 3rd gen owner told me that the noise might be the rocker arms or the lifters making the noise. As far as the idle issues go. Is it possible the lifters could cause that?

Well I talked to the guy again today. He said my rocker arms were all good and the lifters didn't look that bad at all. He said actually my engine is pretty clean and that it was in very good shape overall. He has not had a chance to test out the lifters. So word is still out on if that will fix it. He did say the cam looked ok. Well I guess I will find out Tuesday.
