Hey all, thanks in advance for the help. I am looking for a cam for my otherwise stock 305 lg4, I have stock heads (not sure of the casting numbers), I will eventually be installing headers and such but I may have to pull the heads to replace a head gasket and I thought I would install a good cam while I'm at it. I still have the computer for the carb. and dist. so it must be compatible with that, I will also be installing a performer rpm intake at the same time. I was thinking about the summit #k1106 cam:

duration @ .050 = 234*
lift = .488/.488
lobe seperation = 114*

is this too much cam for a basicaly stock street car? or should I go smaller, I don't mind a little lope at idle but don't want something that will shake my fillings out. will I have trouble with the stock springs? the heads only have about 8,000 miles so I don't want to start replacing springs and such.

Please do not put that cam in your motor, you will hate the way your car runs. For a basically stock LG4 305 something in the 204-210 dur @.050 would be a nice choice.
