K guys i got a major problemo. I have a 89 rs with a new 350 in it dont know what kind though just bought it and it is carb. K! I just took my car out today it ran fine and i went to the gas station put gas in her and she started right up. k i pulled into my g/fs house and had to come out 2 minutes later to start it. i turned the car on and started to go into reverse and bam she dies. i mean the headlights stay on and the dash lights stay on but the motor and car jsut shuts off. Put it in park took out key stick it back in nothing. THen i wait like 10 minutes go back out and it starts for like a minute and then dies again. Cant figure it out at all!!! k also like 2 days ago when i turn on my reg lights the normal 2 come on but when i hit the high beams only one comes on and the other 3 die could this be part of the problem. And the guy i bought it off of installed his onwn fan into it could this be a problem? Please *** help me :hail:

Spray some starting fluid in it.... if it starts, it's a fuel delivery issue (fuel pump, more than likely); if not it's an ignition problem.

Narrow it down one step at a time.

Your headlight issue is likely just a lamp problem, not wiring or anything else. You need to test/replace the failed lamps.

I doubt that the fan is a problem with running or starting. Most likely you have a carb adjustment isuue. Start with the choke at the top, and work all the way down to the well plugs on the underside of the main carb body.

BTW - What is the idle RPM?
