what material is the FPR cap made of?
Well i have been practice with my gas welding\brazing in order to braze a nut on my FPR cap to make it an adjustable one. well today i was getting frustated cause i kept overheated everything i was practicing on, i was doing a really good job with getting the solder flowing really well. but i was overheating and warping the materials i was using. so i decided to play with the MIG welder. and i realized that is the route i am gonna take.. not nearly as much heat and i can control what im doing alot better. plus no burning holes in anything.. but i just want to make sure the FPR cap isnt' aluminum. i don't think it is. but i just want to be sure.. also i am just curious, cause i tried to polish it up some last time i had it off and it didn't seem to do to well. thanks
if it turns red it's steel or iron, if it's magenetic it's steel or iron (also nickle or cobolt are magnetic). if it takes solder or braze it's steel or iron. i'd guess it's stamped steel.
