02 Sensor Heater Wiring

My o2 sensor heater is on all the time (Key Switched) the way i have it wired. I am debating to wire the heater to the ecm closed loop/open loop output as shown in Vader's Diagram. In my mind, the heating element will take a more than a split second to heat up and therefore be in open loop longer (until the o2 heats back up.)

Basicly I'm trying to argue with myself that the o2 sensor will not be hot enuf to instantly kick the ecm back into closed loop if it's hooked up that way.

Can someone please tell me I'm wrong so I can just let myself hook it up this way?
