Which Pro Magnum rockers?

Time to order the Pro Magnum roller rockers.
I'm using the 87 "083" heads and stock center bolt valve covers.
Can I use the 1302-16's or will I have to cough up an extra ~$60 and get the 1318-16's??
Summits' site says the 1318-16's are for 88 & up center bolt covers. I'm wondering if they really mean the center-bolt 87's too..

I've heard the 1302-16's can be used with stock center-bolt valve covers but a little grinding is required on the bracing inside the valve covers.
Anyone confirm that?? I gladly grind a little to save >$60...

It's not the grinding, it's the difference between them being guided by narrow slots in the heads tha thold the push rods in place, or being guided by "rails" on the rocker tip.

If you're using stock 083 heads, with the large holes for the push rods, and no guide plates, then you have to use the 1318s.

Didn't think abt the narrow push rod holes.
Mine have been bored out and raised guide plates are now installed.
Looks like the 1302-16's is what I need.. Right??

Thx!

Yup, if you have guide plates, those would be the ones.
