my car is acting wierd

hey guys. heres my problem. 2 weeks ago i, i had a tune up done to my car. Ever since the tune up it felt liek my car has lost some power and i have more valvetrain noise. recently my car has started to jerk around alittle bit. it doesn't happen often, it only happens once in a while. the jerking happens out of the blue and it only last for a couple of seconds. when the jerking happens, my tach starts to jump around and my oil gauge is on zero. when the jerking stop everything returns to normal. it's real hard to explain. keep in mind that i had this same problem awhile back before my rebuild engine and it was my piston rings that was shot and oil was getting into my intake, but the jerking was alot more worse then now. My car has 17k on it right now with the rebuilt engine so i doubt it will be my rings again. if it is then shoot me.

Maybe one of your plug boots is not completly on. Or, maybe they didn't gap your plugs right or somethin. Really hard to tell, but if it happened right after you had them tune it up, it sounds related to that. That's why I always do all my stuff myself. Well that, and the money I save. Then I know the job is done right.

Hey I had the same problem on my truck right after a tune up . I couldnt find the problem to save my life so i took it and had it put on a Sun Engine Analyzer and found it had 2 cracked spark plugs , which would gound out and cause it to jerk around every once in a while . I had the guy put 2 new plugs in and i was off and running , and the bad part was , you couldnt tell it was cracked until you looked reallll close . You might wanna take out those plugs and inspect each one real carefully , and also make sure they are screwed all the way into the head . hope this helps ya out .....

i had a similar problem on my first firebird. it would bog down and chug then even out and be normal. it turned out that the oil was low to the point of almost empty and the oil sensor was trying to kill the engine. eventually it did and the car would not restart until i filled it with oil again
