91 camaro rs fuel filter
ok trying to get the air filter out of that stupid canister and cant figure out how to open the canister through all the rust, anybody know how to get it open? it seems completly sealed except the top and i cant seem to pry the top off

umm... before you do anything else, what exactly are you trying to do? the fuel filter is under the car sorta beneath the driver seat... if you're messing with what I think you're messing with, that's the evap. (aka charcoal) canister, which I've heard you usually never need to mess with.. they don't go bad easily..
Air filter or fuel filter?
Fuel filter is located near the gas tank up underneath the car; two different sized wrenches are needed to hold the filter with one and turn the nut on the fuel line with the other. If it's rusted really bad, some penetrating oil will help. The filter is built into the metal canister, it's not supposed to come out of that.
Air filter is (if it's a 305 tbi) right on the top of the engine, held down by a single nut in the middle of it. If that's rusted, again, some penetrating oil will help.
As mentioned above, if it's the evap canister, located in the front of the car, that's not a filter and you're not supposed to change it, unless something breaks and you need it for emissions inspections. But that's plastic.

i wasnt =P, nor was i trying to open the emissions canister, its a 3.1 v6 so the air filter canister thing is right next to the emissions canister, i can see the filter inside it but i cant get the bastard open.
