I was just wondering why nothing would come up for certain vehicles,it says it hs no info for my trans am and f-150. I dont know why it would have nothing on them. my car is almost 20 and it has no information? i put a couple cars in that i know have no title and are sitting in a junk yard and it says they are ok.

im guessing your trans am is 1st or 2nd gen? i tried my bros 80 silverado, 57 chevy, and 71 monte carlo. my dads 78 trans am.. and my 71 chevelle with my 3rd gen camaros. after doing all that and only the camaros working, i read the FAQ, and this is why.


We are unable to provide you with vehicle history information for vehicles manufactured prior to 1981, when the 17 character VIN became standard. The 17 character VIN is the code that is used to access CARFAX’s vehicle history information database.

To our knowledge there are no sources from whom pre-1981 vehicle history information is available readily. You could try to contact vehicle-specific clubs or groups focused on older vehicles.

 

Its a 3rd gen. 1984 maybe theres just no info on it, I think that i am the 3rd owner of it but thats all i really know. I got it off a used car lot. I was surprised that there was no info on it. Maybe thats a good thing, my 89 f-150 has no info on there, i know its never been in any wrecks cause my dad bought it new. I figured there would be milage reports or maybe a couple changes of ownership. It doesnt really matter that much i guess.
