283 heads

I found a pair of 60cc 283 heads with 1.72 intake valves. I was wondering if it would be cheaper to get bigger valves and valve spring put on these heads or should i try to find some 64cc 1.94 or 2.02 heads. I was just wondering because the 60cc chambers would give me more compression. I will be putting these on a 350 also. Thanks for any help

They suck. And if you need accessory bolt holes to attach something like an alternator, they won't have them.

Keep looking.

If you've got dish pistons, even 305 heads would be better.... look for the ones off of early-mid 80s 305 4-barrels and such, casting number 416 is the best one of those. They're 58cc and can be made to flow as well as or better than most typical 70s 350 heads. They have 1.84"/1.5" valves, not the best but better than 283 heads, and it's possible to put larger ones in them.
