Can someone clear this up...
My friend asked me a question the other day that kind of stumped me so I am hoping you guys can clear it up. How are electronic speedometers recalibrated? You know like when you go from 2:73 gears to 3:42s. Can anyone enlighten me?
i didn't change mine on my other 86 T/A, but you can go the your local speed shop and get the correct speedo pickup sensor for the trans, but i could be wrong but i think this is correct, at least it works that way for a cable driven speedo.....hope this helps, i'm sure there are others here that know more about this than me.

So a gear huh. Interesting. Thanks for the replies you learn something new everyday
Yeah, the trans-mounted VSS is gear driven, just like the cable thimbles. The dealer usually has a selection of gears that will get you close engough, ubluss you've done something drastic like changing from a 2.56 to a 4.88, in which case the drive gear on the output shaft needs to be replaced as well.
