What does the mean(carb guys)

I just try to start my car which is a carb. I gave it no gas and when i kept cranking it it can smell gas.

Does this happen if the carb is flooded?

because yesterday i gave it alot of gas and i think it got flooded. so would you smell gas when cranking if it is flooded? or would the gas smell be there anyway when cranking without giving gas?

If the float bowl is getting too full (needle valve not shutting off supply, float not working properly, fuel pressure too high, etc.), it can flood whether or not you touch the pedal first.
