Compression ratio and cam Selection?

I was reading an article about cam selection and compression and they strees that it is very important that you get the right cam vs. compression ratio.. is this true? I will be running XR270HR cam with stock pistons... do I need to invest in better pistons now?

Yes it is very important! You want to try and shoot for a Dynamic Compression Ratio (DCR) of about 8.0:1. I don't know what "stock pistons" means, what engine, size, etc?

his 92 is gonna be at like 9.5/1. That cam should be fine.

It's not THAT exacting a match. You just don't want to be running a big lumpy cam with an 8:1 compression ratio or anything like that.

At a stock CR of roughly 9.5:1 that cam should work just fine.
