Stalling...help!
Stalling...help!
I'm new to the forum, and I need help... I have an '89 IROC Z-28 w/115,000 miles on it. I LOVE this car, but have been having an intermittent problem with it stalling when I'm not on the gas...has happened on freeway exits, in parking lots, at stoplights, anytime I let off the gas pedal...and it's driving me nuts. I do most of my wrenching myself, but had the timing checked and it's okay and the idle speed is good. Changed rotor, distributor cap, plugs and wires...no difference. Does anyone have any ideas??? I'm a single mom w/not a lot of money and DON'T want to go to a mechanic who treats me like an idiot because I don't have b**ls and tries to soak me out of my last dime.
Thanks in advance for your help...

Welcome to the boards!
I am not a tech but I have read in several posts that your fuel filter may be part of the problem.
Also posting the type of engine you have helps us help you.

i have that very same problem, i let off the gas at stop lights, parking lots, she dies out. i have a 1992 3.1L V6. I am planning on replaceing the fuel filter and the pick up coil, and ignition coil once it gets a little warmer out.
