Transmission filler tube replacement.

I finally had some decent weather today, so i got the trans am up on ramps to change the transmission filter. I got back up under there and found the stupid transmission filler tube to be broken. It was getting dark so i really didnt get a good look at it but i was just wondering where exactly it hooks up to the transmission at and if it is very hard to replace. knowing these things would help alot cause theres not musch space up under there to see much. Hopefully i havent put any damage on it,I havent driven it that much so im hoping it will be ok. Also i was wondering where i could pick it up, Advance or napa maybe? Its an 84 700 R4.

It just pulls out of the transmission. There's a tab that bolts onto one of the upper bellhousing bolts, however, and it's pretty tough to get to without 4 feet of socket extensions.

There's a rubber seal on the end of it.. Make sure you are aware of where it is (still in the trans, stuck to the dipstick, etc.) when you get there.

I doubt a parts house carries that specific dipstick tube. You may have to go with a dealer piece, or something universal like a Lokar one.
