Torque Convertor
Torque Convertor
I have my engine out, in the process of rebuilding it. So currently the torque convertor is fully accessable in the engine bay. What is required to install a new one? How hard is it?

The converter just slides off the shaft...when installing the new one be sure to turn the converter as you put it on...it has 2 sets of teeth...it will go on so far...then turn it until it goes all the way on...

yeah slides right off, when you go to put the new one on look at the shaft you will notice 2 notches on either side, on your converter you will notice 2 corrosponding notches, line em up and slide it on, you should hear 3 clicks and then its on all the way.. its pretty easy to tell when its on all the way cause if it isnt it will drip fluid. make sure ya fill your new converter with fluid before ya put it on if it isnt already filled

a little good advice, you might want to replace the front seal also while you have the converter off. Just a little insurance and save you alot of work later on.
