uh oh help

Tried to start the car today.....didn't start. I havent been driving it all winter and i start it up every few days. Today its warm and when i try to start it makes a series of fast clicking noises. Is this my starter? The motor wont even turn i just get these clicks. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you do not have enough power to turn the starter, so it just clicks. Charge up the battery and you should be fine.

Also check the connections of the cables to the batt.

Say my battery is dead or has bad connections, would the starter still be clicking? Also is the starter under and a little behind the engine? The fast clicking comes from there. I'm gunna try jumping it i guess, and if i can find the starter, hit it with a hammer.

the clicking is the starter solenoid - basically just a switch trying to engage the starter to the engine (you have enough power to run the solenoid, but not the starter). this is the telltale sign to a weak battery. if you want to make yourself feel better, grab a voltmeter & test the battery to make sure it's low before you jump it
