harmonic balancer
i have a quick question on harmonic balancers. i plan on spinning my engine to around 6000-6500 rpm and i know the stock crank gets in trouble around this rpm. So i plan on getting a fluidampr balancer to at least have a little insurance. my question is what size is the right size for an l98. they offer a 6 1/4, 6 3/8, or a 7 1/4. i plan on putting 400+ horsepower to the stock shortblock so which size would work the best for it. any help is much appreciated.

i plan on getting the streetdampr that is 6-3/4".
it all depends on what you are looking for. a larger balancer will offer you more vibration protection, but it will also be heavier, which will create more parasitic loss of horsepower. a smaller will be opposite.
check www.vibratech.com. it is fluidampr's web site...has a lot of info on applications etc.
hope this helps...
