Engine block ?

Hwat are the advantages and disadvantages of an aluminum block as pertaining to autocross.

wet block right? weight savings, heat disapation, repairable. not inserts for the threads would be a potential problem as would warpage and distortion

Wet block; What are the threads? Also, is warping happen very often? I am planning on building a ZL1 427...will this block be a good ivestment for autocross?
