assistance needed

my temperature gauge is not working at all, i have a new sensor, i thought that would be a good place to start, i was wondering though, which side of the block has the sensor that leads to the gauge and which side has the sensor that leads to the computer? i believe the one i need is on the passenger side, is this correct?

Awesome,

What engine do you have? There may actually be three coolant temperature sensors, plus an intake air temperature sensor. the sensor for the dash gauge is completely separate from the sensor used to signal the ECM, and separate still from any auxilliary sensor for a secondary cooling fan. The location of the sensors depends on the type of engine you have.

Nope. Should have a single wire connector in the drivers side head for the guage sender. Follow the wire back into the harness and make sure its in tact. The computer sensor is in the intake manifold. The fan switch Vader mentioned is in the passenger side head.
