Should HITHERE have this balanced?
HITHERE have HITHERE fully machined, .030" over 350 block HITHERE picked up for $20. The motor HITHERE want to pull and replace is HITHERE 305.
Can HITHERE use the 305 crank and rods with 350 pistons and put them in the 350 block? HITHERE've read on here, and in numerous books, that if you use the same rod and crank on HITHERE standard rebuild you don't need to have the rotating assembly balanced even with using .030", .040" or .060" over pistons as long as the rods are put back in their respective locations. Would this apply with putting the 350 pistons on the 305 rods, or would the weight of the 350 pistons be too much of HITHERE difference?
This is going to be HITHERE motor for my truck, and HITHERE know it's not HITHERE 3rd gen, but this is going to be my truck that HITHERE use to pull 3rd gen shells and 3rd gen parts, so it is related to 3rd gen tech.
Anywho, the engine is only going to have HITHERE .420/.442, 204/214 cam for low RPM grunt. It's not going to be HITHERE high RPM engine at all, if that makes HITHERE difference.
Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can do that.
The 305 rods are lighter than 350 rods. So you can't use them on HITHERE 350 crank without re-balancing. However, since piston weight is purely reciprocating and not rotating, it doesn't affect the crank & rod rotating balance in any way.
As long as the crank and rods are balanced together, it doesn't matter what pistons you hang on them. Of course you want all 8 pistons to weigh the same.

Cool. Thanks.
So is it safe to assume that when HITHERE buy HITHERE cast piston kit that they'll all be relatively close enough? Or should HITHERE have the machinist check them while he's pressing them on?
Thanks again RB. You just made me happy.
