I'm starting to play w/my T/A again--after sitting for a long time--it just won't start! It has fuel, inj.'s are firing but no spark! I took a known good coil from my Monte and swapped over-thinking that was the problem--still have no spark! all fuses look ok too.
I unplugged the passkey just for the hell of it-only the security light went out but still cranked--plugged it back on-security light was on(don't remember if it stayed on while cranking)and still won't start!! Car started and ran fine before I swapped my dash out(car is an 86 w/89 drivetrain and 92 dash).
I'm at a loss!! any help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

Are you getting spark at the other end of the coil wire? Have you replaced the ignition module? I don't think the ignition module would cause a no start situation, but it's worth a shot.

 

How could I tell if I'm getting spark at the other end of the coil wire? I swapped back the coils, and the other coil started the Monte right up. Now my security light is staying on so I'm assuming it's the vats--maybe.
Also--the ign. module--the one in the distributor? If that's it I haven't replaced it yet.
