i was looking around the junk yard today and found an 87 camaro with a 350 in it. it needs a lot of work, a new right fender, seat covers, and a lot of interior work. we asked the guy if they would sell it as a complete car and they said yea, for 800 since they paid 700. i have a 78 malibu i was looking to sell for about 1200 and asked him if he was interested in a trade for the camaro and about $400-500. he said yea, the malibus sell fast.
the camaro has a 350, it should be an 87 roller. he said it has a new tranny, and a posi rear. it is a TBI also, i'l probably swich it to carb soon. it needs some work but it wont be a daily driver so i can do pretty much anything i want to it. what do you think? i just had to put something here, i'm bored and i'm always exited about a new camaro.

 

If it's an '87 350 TBI, the engine isn't original.

 

i know its not original, it was a 305 but somebady put a 350 in it. i'm not sure its a roller but its no big deal. arn't the 87 tbi's 190hp 295lb-ft with the 305 and auto? i like it because it has a posi rear, 350, they say its got a fairly new tranny in it, electric fan and small stuff like that. its also got nice wheels, a 2" "91 or something spoiler i could use on my other camaro if i wanted, i'l probably put the wheels on it anyway. the body isn't too bad, the interior needs work but is mostly pretty easy stuff. i like the guage cluster better than mine so i'l probably put that in my other one too.

 

I highly doubt that they paid $700 for it. Your going to give them more in cash than they have in it, and another car for them to sell off. Just something to think about.

 

they will be giving me $400 not me giving them $400. the car isn't as bad as you would think. i'm probably going to repaint it which is good because i want a car i can practice on, and the interior wont be too bad even with just seat covers and a good clean up. the dash is still shinny, the carpet and rear seats are good. the one i have now looked almost as bad bfore i cleaned it up and it looks almost new now. thats sort of what i've been looking for but didn't expect to find one for that price with a 350, and if its got a 350 which i was going to get eventualy that is something less i have to spend money on.

i might also try to get them to throw in a fender and console with the deal.

another thing is that if i get one in to good of a condition i'l get bored with it when i get finished with the small stuff and don't have money for new engines and trannys and stuff.
