Anybody running TRW pistons L2490F30?

anybody runnning this piston? i was looking at getting using them in my 355... they are the light weight 355 pistons... right at 497g... my q is cause a buddy of mine said he was told by some people that the light weights TRWs were for circle track only and weren't for use in engines over 400 hp!! i don't know how that could be true... but thought i would ask if anybody is runnign them...

no clue, but you may want to call TRW they are usually pretty helpful about stuff like that.

ahhh

i have the l2491f-30's in my 383........ they have about 10.3: with 68cc chambers......

belive me, they are not a circle track only piston.......

my friend is throwing together a 383 with keith black hypo 18 forged slugs and my trw's were 10x better made..... hell they look as good as a je or srp!

i personally think they are a good piston.. if trw was cheaper than what alot says they are then ford wouldn't have put them in the 5.0's as long as they did.........

if you have worries try probe... i heard they have a pretty good chevy selection and are top notch!!!

good luck and hope it woks for ya!

i don't see there being a problem... i will call trw today and see... i would think that the lighter piston ie the 497 g would be better for the motor cause of the lighter rotating assembly...
