Is the S.O.B to big

I just would like to know if I install 17x10 inch wheels on my 87 Iroc, will I have any problems with the tire rubbing in turns or over bumps.

It depends on what tire you plan on running.
For a 10" rim you'll need at least a 5.5" offset in the rear.
You might be able to squeeze a 285/40/17 inside the wheel well but it'll be close.
If your car is lowered you might run into the outer lip contacting the tread on hard dips.
I have 17x11" rims in the rear with 315/35/17's and 6" offset that work with a small amount of rubbing.
