This SUCKS a lobe on my cam has worn down its crazy ..I hope it was just a defect in the cam just had a new cam overnited to me does anyone know where I can download a detailed cam installation guide ..I want to be absolutely sure I have this one RIGHT

Sorry to hear bout that- I had the same thing happen in my 70 Chevelle long ago.

I'd check the various cam websites for directions- I believe COMP CAMS website has a PDF that provides some direction.

I shudder to think where the component dust from that cam lobe wound up- hopefully all in the oil filter.

May also wish to place a strong magnet on your oil pan to help collect the stuff.

I went to crane and looked over the one they have already have the new cam in just gotta put the front end and intake back on it ...man you should have seen the old cam uughgh it was nasty 7 or 8 of the lobes where dstarting to wear way down ..but one of them was ROUND ...yes round disgusting huh?
and one of the lifters looked like a bowl...you know one you eat out of....im gonna do that magnet thing ...which also make me think of something ..i have a bar of magnet i might break it up and make like a belt type thing and wrap it around my oil filter so the particals get stuck in there instead of in my oil pan thanks for the idea!
