Puff of Smoke\Steam comign out of breather,,Is This BAD???

OK, I have an open element and I put a Chrome breather in the valve cover. When I open the hood i can see the condensation uild up on the chrome valve covers like it is pufing it out. It's nota constant stream, but it a consistent puff. ANyone have any idea what this is caused from? It really annoying and making my chrome look like Crapola! I'm not sure what else to tell yuou about it. I've never encountered this. Ask if you need more info.

Thanks,
Lars

If it's an actual breather, with holes and the metal mesh and all that, then it's not just condensation, it's oil vapor and everything else out of the crankcase. You need to get rid of it and hook the stock type of closed system back up, otherwise you will always have that crap everywhere and your motor will smell like old cars always do.

Nearly all of the typical open-element bases have the means to hook up a breather hose like the factory system. Get the right fitting for yours, or at least one that you can make fit, and then go to the parts store and get a piece of moded heater hose that will fit as neatly as possible. That's one piece of clutter under there that you really shouldn't try to do without.
