My Generation Camaro
CHP has a article on a 87 Z28 buildup. Recently, they changed from a 305 to a 350, and only gained .4 NA and 0.05 and 4mph on nitrous over the 305. I know he got a bad launch and all but still....
WTF?

As they mention in the begining of the article, they had a baseline problem. They baselined without the air cleaner and a couple of other things that increased hp. Baseline was artifically high, so it made the improvements look meaningless when tested under normal conditions.
Oh yea, and they relied on a Jet performance chip instead going through the necessary steps of log data, analyze data, make corrections, burn chip and repeat.
They seem very reluctant to go into detail about chip tuning or computers in general. Probably because it is dicey and can have dire consequences if the operator doesn't know what he' doing.
In the editors note at the begining of the mag, he goes on a bit about the My Generation and the other one 383 Moby (?).
Regardless, at least they don't try to cover their tracks and blow a lot of sunshine out their a$$.

Yes, that Camaro in the CHP article has had some mondo issues from day one, and apparently still does. They should be doing a lot better than they are with that setup, unless the brakes are dragging, front wheels are toed-in, or something stupid like that is going on.

Again, this does not apply to DIY tuning fuel injected chips, there is extensive information covering that and it does tend to yield noticeable results.
