I am in the process of a 305 to 350 swap. I purchased a proform chrome engine dress up kit. I have the engine in the car, and then remembered that it needs a dipstick. How do i go about putting the dipstick on, it doesnt seem to just slide in. Thanks for the help.

you may have the wrong stick....they are not all the same...pass. side or driver side? the right one will just slide in with a little pressure.. Some of those kit parts are not made very well..

 

Damn, i suppose its possible its not hte right size. Its a passenger side dipstick. Where can i get the right size one?

Check out a Mr Gasket MRG-6238. I think it's what I have in my El Camino's 305. The description says it fits Camaro '82-'85, but it will probably fit a lot more applications. You might find one at
Napa, Autozone, Checker's, etc. for around $10-$12. BTW, I put
a 1/4" bolt in the tube and tap it in with a hammer.

 

Thanks for the help. Ill try using a hammer with the one i've got, and if that doesnt work, ill buy that mr gasket one. thanks.
