THANKS TO WHOEVER IT WAS
Just wanted to say thanks to whoever posted (a long time ago) about the high beam headlight switch fix... Mine has been in-operative for well over a couple of years and I was gonna take it in to have fixed, but never did since I seldom need or use the hi-beamers. I just happened to "surf" right into that post and damn if I didn't fix it myself. All it was was the "slack" in the actuator rod. I got up under there and let down the steering wheel, adjusted the switch bracket and imagine that - problem solved. At least now I have a choice to use them...
TS,
The same thing can occur with the ignition switch. If you're ever in a situation when turning the key doesn't crank the engine, and the selector is in 'PARK' of the clutch is depressed, try tilting the wheel to the lowest position to start. The linkage seems to get "compressed" over time.

The same goes for switching your hi-beams. If they're not quite catching, tilt your wheel down a little. I replaced my ignition switch, and when I reassembled everything, my hi-beam switch actually worked better for awhile, but now it seems to have loosened up a bit and I have to do the wheel-tilt trick sometimes.
