Fuse labeled ARC, blown but no explanation in Haynes, whats it for??
Ok, I just took a 225 mile trip a few days ago and at the end of it my check engine light came on... the code said 44-Lean Fuel Mixture... the car has been running fine at idle but when you put it in gear and step on the gas it bogs down and when you floor it it simply stalls... now, I was about to start replacing different parts of it starting with the fuel filter but when I went to pull the fuse for the fuel pump there WASN'T any and there is NO contact in the ALDL for G to try to energize the fuel pump... I did find a blown fuse though with the label of ARC and have no clue what its for... and neither the Haynes or Chiltons manuals tell me... right now I'm resetting the ECM to clear the code and will go out for a test drive after replacing that fuse to see if thats the problem.. but does anybody know what its supposed to be for or why I dont have a fuel pump fuse or ALDL contact for it?? This is mind boggling... its for the '91 listed below... thanks

pianiy,
Do you have an owners' manual? Most of the fuse designations are outlined there, or inside the cover for the fuse panel. Usually the designations are an acronym for something, but I could only guess as to what "ARC" is supposed to be.

well.... I the car is running just fine now after replacing that fuse.... whatever it was, it did it.. and the car's been through 6 owners, yes 6, so the manual is nowhere to be found... I'm thinking of ordering it from GM, is it really worth it?
It wouldn't hurt to have a owners manual.

I think mine was $12 from Helms, who writes the GM books. Might as well order yourself a GM service manual too- well worth it! http://www.helminc.com
