Apparently not, because I busted a tooth off my spindel.
I'm flippin through summit thinking about getting some richmond gears (any other reccomendations?) but wondering what diameter pinion and ring gear our cars have?
Right now I have a 5 spd and a 3.27 but I think I'm gonna switch over to a 3.73 or a 3.90....what do you guy's suggest?

What year is your car? 3.27 sounds like a Borg Warner rear end. In which case gears will run you about $400 and are of limited availability. If it is anything else it is a 7.5" or 7.625" axle. The gears are interchangable, GM just used slightly different sizes in different years. First count the number of pan bolts in your axle, 10 is the 7.5"/7.625", 9 is the Borg Warner.

If it is a 10 bolt rear, most places sell a different gearset depending on whether it is a 7.5 or 7.625". Being that your current gearset is a 3.27, you would more than likely have a 7.5".

Whoops..I forgot to mention I don't have the original rear-end in the car. It's a Borg-Warner 3.27 out of an 89 TA.

You won't find gears for the 9-bolt in the Summit book. I'd go for the 3.70, seeing that that's the only 'performance' ratio offered. Gears cost $299 from either DTS or Reider Racing. Don't know if Summit can get them or not.

Thanks.....I went looking around to see what I could get. The best I could do so far was 3.70's and they'd cost me $319...........damn that sucks. Even worse, I went to my local chevy dealer just for the help of it......they priced a stock 3.23 at over $600!!!!!!!!
I hate you Borg-Warner rear axel!!!!!!
