i need intake manifold info!!

i am going to buy an intake manifold in a few days and im wondering what is everything you need to put in a new one, and what does it do to the throttle and tv cable locations? i have a 600 cfm edelbrock carb, and flowtech headers on a 1979 chevy 350, what kind of improvements will i get? right now i have a 305 intake manifold on it. and last question, would you recomend weind or edelbrock? thanks

Gains? Really depends upon your other mods, like exhaust and cam.

If those are stock, gains will be next to nothing. I put the GMPP manifold on when the LG4 was basically stock - only put it on because I had to pull the stock manifold to fix a coolant leak - only mods at the time were open element air cleaner and stock TPI cat-back. I gained .05 sec for best time in the quarter (my times would vary more than .05 sec in a given night, typically).

After the mods, I didn't compare to a stock manifold, but when the rest is improved, the improvement of an aftermarket manifold will increase.

I'd recommend the Weiand Action + or GMPP intake.

Depends what kind of cam and power range you're running. The Edelbrock Performer series seems to be good, especially the RPM and RPM Air-Gap.
