4th Gen seats in a 3rd Gen??????
Will 4th gen seats fit in a third gen car i.e. an 86 T/A. I mean will they bolt right in or am I in for a lot of work? Has anyone done this before?

You can also search the junkyards for seats from any mid-size GM vehicle... while the other car's seat -rails- won't bolt into your f-body, the seat itself should be able to bolt onto -your- old seat rails.
That means you wouldn't be using the forward/back adjuster from the parts car, you'd be re-using yours.
I found my original pattern seats, in brand new condition, in a Pontiac 6000 Station Wagon SE. I guess the SE is what put my style of seat in there?
All I had to do was switch my rails onto the 6000's seats, and put my forward-tilt mechanism from my seats onto the 6000's. (The 6000 was a four door and didn't need it's seats to tilt forward).
I got the seats for $10 each- I think that had to do with me telling the guy "I think they'll fit but I'm not sure." He told me to give him $10 each, and if they didn't fit, I didn't have to bring 'em back.
