can you trim air dam

I just got a new air dam and i was going to take 1/2-1 inch off all the way around so i don't break it again .can i do this with no problems or should i just leave it

The air dam is important for cooling. I would leave it. Be more careful on dips.

Smaller dam = overheating = fried block.
Firebirds are really bad about this because most dont have the grille's that the Camaros have in the front. Less airflow.

Hmmmm....

Normal dam = be careful on steep angled paths = car maintains good condition!


I prefer the second approach.

F-bodies use that thing to direct air up into the engine compartment (which Im sure you already knew) the more air the better! I would keep the dam like it is.
