Normally, your stall speed will climb higher after it "balloons" because the internal clearances will grow. In extreme cases, when it swells, it will push the nose of the converter (the pump drive) too far into the tranny and eat up the front pump. Unless your car runs hard enough to break into some good times, has a BIG shot of dope, I wouldn't suspect the converters your problem..Unless it's just a REALLY cheaply made converter.
