How do I remove the EGR? What do I have to change to avoid problems? Why do I need it? and anything else that might be helpful

You might have better luck at the tech board, so I'll send it over there.

Four-Niner,

Moving back one step, why exactly do you need to remove the EGR valve? Did you install a different intake that doesn't have the EGR provision? The EGR system doesn't cost any power, and can actually allow more power if you're using the ECM.

I'm looking to remove it because I will be putting on a new intake, heads, a cam, and a chip. Plus it will help unclutter the engine compartment.

Not hard.. i did it to mine about 2 weeks ago. Just held on by an intake bolt under the distributor. Take that off and you have the black connector bit off and its bracket (but put the bolt back in)

Then you can take off the valve peice behind the carb. Its just 2 bolts, but you'll have to fab up a cover plate to cover the holes in the intake manifold.
