fuel pressure check
fuel pressure check
Ok, I'm going to do my own fuel pressure check tonight or tomorrow and I haven't done this before. I've got a 305 TBI L03 and it surges when I start it up cold then evens out after 5-10 mins but when you put a load on it in gear it bogs down and sometimes stalls... I've checked for vacuum leaks and changed the fuel filter. The last time I had this type of problem was on the '87 and it was the fuel pump. SO what kind of fittings do I need for this to work? Any other advice? Thanks.

pianiy,
There is no fuel pressure test fitrting on most TBI engines, so you'll need to adapt a Schrader fitting in the fuel line between the filter and TBI unit. Mr. GM Tech tells me there's a nifty fuel filter/adapter setup made just for this purpose - you may want to check into that before you start cutting any fuel lines.
