hard wiring t/c
i went to the track the other night and a buddy of mine showed me a neat trick on how to hard wire my torque converter. actually all we did was take a piece of wire and stick it in the a and f terminals under the drivers side dash. but he told me that i could make a switch to turn in on and off so i dont have to keep pulling the wire out after every run. how is this possible anyone else ever done this? do i have to ground it or hwo does it work please let me know thanks.

All that piece of wire does is connect the TCC solenoid pin on the ALDL connector to the ground. The TCC circuit runs from the gauges fuse through the brake pedal switch, into the solenoid, and into the computer, or to a vacuum switch if you have a non-computer controlled car. In either case, the computer or switch interrupts the ground to lock and unlock the TCC. The pin on the ALDL connector is wired "between" the solenoid and the computer.

It's a couple of amps at most. #18 wire and a normal switch should do fine. The problem is putting it somewhere that is convenient to use while driving.
Those of you who ever drove one of the Vettes with the "4+3" POS will remember one possibel solution.

The F terminal is the one connected to the TCC solenoid, and the A terminal is just a ground. You can just splice into the wires going to the A and F terminals if you want. It might be easier to splice to the F terminal wire, and then connect the other terminal of your switch to a convenient ground near your mounting point.
