LT1 swaps?
LT1 swaps?
Has anyone ever done this? I've seen them at car shows and I think it would probobly be cheaper to swap one in rather than buy a mini ram and aluminum heads for my L98. Has anyone ever ran one completely (the LT1 in a third gen) stock and went to a track? If not what would you guys estimate. When I race my friends in their 4th gens they always get me buy like half a car length(both are auto's).
Evil,
Go back through the archives and search for "LT1 swap". You'll find several threads on this topic. The replacement of the engine is not a major change from any other swap, but installing the correct control system will eat up a lot of time. You'll need to exchange the PCM, wiring harness, radiator and expansion tank, transmission wiring, fans, A/C system, and a few things I'm probably forgetting.

Be sure to get a 94 or 95 PCM so you can use the LT1edit program to edit the computer. Check out www.carputing.com for more info.
