Anyone runnin the street dominator intake 300-38

I got this from Summit a few days ago thinking it would be as comparable to my Weiand action plus. Haven't bolted it on yet, but I think My Weiand would suffocate the the Holley. The ports and runners on the Holley are smaller than my stock GM 4 bbl intake. Maybe it makes low end torque? Just would like someone who might have it bolted on tell me if it was any improvement over something else they had....thanks

i have that holley alum.... intake and compared only to a stock 4 barrel intake, to be honest it really didn't make much difference but if your looking to shift torque range, you need to focus on different cam sizes.

Well, I've got the Compcams 268he installed and I'm undecided between the Holley or the Weiand. I've been comparing the intakes to a intake gasket and then my heads . What I've noticed is that the ports on the Holley are centered over the gasket openings more so than the Weiand. Also appears that when I go to mount the Holley the ports will be dead on,but slightly smaller than the head ports. Should I stick with the Weiand and try to gasket match the ports ....That action plus sure looks like it'll breathe good

is this on a 305/350? what heads you have? 194's, 202's? how many cc is the chambers as well as intake/ext specs for the ports on the heads. Also to take into consideration is height, my brother had a double pumper holley and that air cleaner wouldn't fit on my 650 cfm so i had to buy a whole new cleaner to adjust for hood clearance. what kind of carb you running? how many cfm? As far as I see, anything holley is a better route. Holley been in my family for decades.

hydric, It's a 305 sbc with 1.94 intake valves, 1.6 rockers and 58cc heads..The first route will be to use the cc q-jet which I'll probably have to modify. I'll have shorty headers on there also. I'm afraid the Holley 300-38 will be a restriction

well thats almost funny seeing your set-up is almost exactly the same as me but I just put in a newer cam (its pretty close to a stock one but with small heads, a small cam, your torque range is low so she moves but after 4500-5k rpm shes got nothing more but by then i've burned the other car(s))

Also, I have a 355 small block, however I think with your set-up, especially with the additioin of headers, restriction will be no problem. Don't go over a 650 cfm carb though and I would avoid double pumpers and get you one with vacuum secondaries. Quadra jets are ok but i would, in the future, invest into a holley vacuum 2nds.
