using AC controls as manual fan switch....
using AC controls as manual fan switch....
Today I broke my fan sensor off....one inbetween #6 and #8 cyclinder.
Anyways I dont think I will have time to get it fixed before I have to work at 4:30.....so I was thinking....
My A/C is not working right now(locked compressor) so I unplugged the compressor wire and turned the A/C on and my fan came on. The voltage dropped a little bit at first then picked up. Is the AC working still or will the system not be harmed as long as I have it unplugged from the compressor.
IS there a problem with doing this?

You should be fine as long as the A/C connector stays diconnected.
I used that method to run my fan manually when I removed my A/C.

I do the same thing at the racetrack. I removed my a/c a while ago, and put a jumper in that high-pressure connector (from the a/c hard line, on the passenger side's main frame rail, between the condensor and the accumulator). I have a little jumper wire taped in there... at the track, I just yank the wire out to let the fan run while I wait for the lane before me to do their run.
