Caddillacs came with LT1's?????

I was just looking at a guy's site where he put a T56 in his caddy. It has an LT1 in it, which I just found out came stock in there. Does anyone know what all caddillac models came with LT1's? I might have to start looking around in junkyards

I dont know about Caddilacs, but I know the Buick Roadmaster came with an iron headed version of the LT1. I think something else was different about it too, but I can't remember what...

The Buick Roadmonster was the same chassis as the Caprice/Impala; it came with basically the Impala SS version of the LT1.

AFAIK no Cadillacs came with LT1s. They have their own motors.

Cadillacs came with horizontally mounted Northstar FWD motors.

I'll second that - and elaborate. 1994-96 Fleetwoods came with the VIN "P" engine - A Chevrolet LT1 350 CID with iron heads, 260 HP, 320 ft/lb. They were NOT available with the L99 (VIN "W" 265CID), or "baby" LT1. Anything that was built in Arlington could get the LT1 until the "B" body was dropped.

Cool.. I did not know that they ever put Chevy motors in those.

Some of you other old farts might remember the huge multi-million-dollar furor that erupted back in about 77 or 78, when some dweeb bought a Olds 98 because he liked Olds motors; he'd had it for some months, really liked the car, then went to buy some part for it, and discovered it had a Chevrolet 350 in it.... he sued GM for some California kind of thing (like the Oreo cookies yesterday)..... GM's answer was that they had to put a Chevy motor in his Olds because they had put all the Olds motors in Cadillacs!!! {insert obnoxious basketball buzzer SFX here} I don't think the court found that an adequate defense.

lol still a frivalous law suit. I don't think you can really say the LT1 is a chevy block. these days you just have GM blocks aside from the Northstar engine.

what gets me mad is when i see the BEASST crew at englishtown all running there Impy's, and they get upset when they run mid 13's?!?!?!?! Some guy was like "Oh man.. i need to get better traction, my 60' was 2.1.. i gotta do better then that to break my 13.5 1/4 time" I couldnt belive my ears... I met a guy not to long ago that dropped in a t-56 behind his Impy.

Yes, it's sad. I can't get much better than 13.68 out of my wife's beater '94. You'd think a 4,400 pound vehicle wouldn't have such traction issues. Maybe it's time to dump the 3.08 rear gears?
