Does anyone know how to take apart the smog pump, specifically off of an 86 IROC. I was media blasting it, and got some crap in it. I have the back off, it comes apart partially, then goes no more. I need to get it apart to clean it out. Hopefully we don't have to find another one.

 

Nevermind, I figured it out. The shaft comes out if you jiggle it. I re-greased the bearings, air hosed it out, seems to function ok. These things seem like fairly big horsepower hogs, does anyone know how much they cost?

 

You can get a remanufactured one for $40-50, but most people just remove them unless you have to pass emissions, they only use a couple HP at the most so they don't really drag the engine down much.
