96 Z-28 Question

Trying to help out a friend. He has a 96 Z28 that sets the check engine light. The dealer said it needed and egr valve he replaced it twice and after a couple of months the check engine light comes back. Any Ideas?

Also, if it is and EGR valve problem, just replacing the valve wont fix everything. You need to clean all the EGR passages, check solenoids and/or vacuum lines and check the EGR sensor.
