Results of leak down test

More like "push air trough spark plug hole and see where's it coming out of test"...

I put 100 PSI in cyl #6 and with BOTH valves closed A LOT of air was coming out of the breather holes (it popped the PCV valve twice!). With each valve open air was coming out of the intake and exhaust respectively.

Did the same thing on cly #1 and #2 and NO air was coming out of the breather hole when both valves were closed.

Does this mean the rings are bad, or could it be a blown intake or head gasket ? I think it could be both. Any ideas ? :/

Sounds like either broken rings, ar rings siezed up in the piston. Either way, the thing will have to come apart. Yuk!

First, determine how fast the air is leaking out.

Second, squirt some oil into the cylinder (to seal the rings)

Now, how fast is the air leaking out?

If it is at the same rate, the valves would be suspect.

If no air leaks out, suspect the rings.

If some air is still leaking out, but less, then both the rings and valve(s) are suspect.

It could be a blown head gasket also, but you'll still have to take the head off either way.
