Yeah so I finally got the freaking thing unbolted, and me not sleeping I didn't think for the longest time that I don't have to get the serpentine belt off over the lip on the ac pump, i just need to slip it off the self tensioner
I'm dumb
Anyhow, I got 2 questions, first off how do I know when I have completely drained the a/c of the R-12? Secondly, I had to make a slight dimple in the valve cover for a bolt to clear (and frustration too) anyhow, this engine is the fuel inject TBI with the ribbed valve covers and the dimple simply removed 2 of the ribbes and pushed it down half of one. It is right on the end so I don't think the rocker will hit, I even unplugged the primary and turned it over to see, but there was no loud sound. Instead a slight ticking, and since this is not my vehical I'm not sure if this sound is common or not? So I guess my second question is how much clearence is there from the stock rockers to the stock vavle cover and is my dimple safe?
To sum it up:
1. How do I know when I have drained the a/c's R-12 completely, and also how would you recommend doing it (I simply used something long and with my sleeve over my hand held the filler valve open, some crap squrited out so I left it a while then now I can get the ocassional hiss to come out, but I don't wanna pull that hose off until I am sure)
2. how much clearence is there from the stock rockers to the stock vavle cover and is my dimple safe?
Thanks alot guys
