Hey guys i'm planning on spending about 10K on my GTA next year when i'm done school. I am going with a 383 a probuilt 700R4 and some other stuff. I was figuring 4K for the motor. I'm thinking superram intake. I'll be building the engine with my uncle...no crate motor. I want around 400-450 HP with this motor. Is 4K a good estimate or am i WAY off? Thanks guys!!

With $4000 you should be able to build one HELL-of-a 383!!!! Hell, even if you wanted to go with all FORGED parts (4340 forged crank, H-beam rods, JE pistons)..

 

True, $4000 should go a long way. Be sure to have the 700R4 build up to handle that torque too.
