where to run water temp guage??

hey guys i just got my water temp, oil pressure and tach in the mail and i put the tach in and i love it and i was lookin at were to put the water temp and the only place i can see to screw it into is on the manifold and i have my heater hose in one hhole and the only othere open one in directly under the radiator hose so i cant use it. i was thinkin of usin the same spot on the drivers side heads that the stock temp guage screws into but on my guage it has to fittings and one screws into the other to liek hold the sensor in place and the thing is 12 npt and the head looks liek its smaller. now can i buy wut i need?? also wut size is the hole?? thasnks guys

I used the hole in the front of the manifold where the heater hose used to go up to the TB. Since I took the heat completly out of my car and plugged that hole a while back it worked out perfect for me. I would use the hole head where the factory sender is if I had to retain my heat. My auto meter guage came with a couple of different adaptors to fit different sized holes.

I used the hole on the side of the head. Is this a mechanical or an electrical gauge? I have a mechanical one and I ended up having to order an autometer fitting to make it work.

There should still be a hole in the manifold. Possibly for a coolant temp sensor. My has it anyways. Its plugged so Im gonna try using that. If not ill use the stock location of the guage.

Im getting all new gauges soon. I dont trust the stock pieces of crap.

my cars miles away from stock, its not tbi anymore its a carbed 350. there are 2 holes in the manifold. one my heater hose is running into and the other is directly underneath the radiator hose and i can't use it. I will have to use the stock hole in the side of the head so i guess i will not have my stock temp guage anymore but who cares, what i need to knwo is wut size is the hole? IS is 3/8 NPT?
